I'm pretty new to the whole printmaking thing and am using whatever tools (carving, inks, etc) they have available at Hobby Lobby and Michael's while I get used to making them. I'd, and I'm imagining others, would like to know/learn more. So please share your knowledge with others!

Seems like a nice group. What a shame it's not active anymore. There are but a few traditional printmaking groups, so it's very sad :(

Hi, I was wondering if serigraphy or silk-screen printing is allowed? If so where should I put it? I'll have more types of relief and intaglio prints soon but at the moment I only have screen prints to submit.

Hi! Nice to meet you!
But, why is there no, Lithography gallery? I submitted to etching since I etch the limestone with Nitric acid, but I wasn't sure where to put it other wise.

I've received my BFA with a concentration in Printmaking and I'm currently applying to Masters programs for Print. I'm trying to get more involved in the online print community. I have been submitting to Printmakers-Of-Da, but all my recent submissions are expiring, so I wanted to look into other groups.

Etching isn't just about making a negative, in my opinion, you really have to think about the process and the type of lines, strokes, and pressure you use when drawing, as well as, how long you time your etches to get the desired result.

I really like that this group separates out aquatint, and the other processes to see how different people can apply the techniques in such different ways. Most of my intaglio work combines many of the processes. If you have any questions feel free to ask I'll do my best to answer. I'll have to look up more on the lithography, the class I took was only experimental taught by a TA.
