Something fresh, something new. Just ten colors and perhaps not just as recognizable as my other pixel work, but in some way I like how it ended up.

The braille and sign language hands in the bottom read "hand power"

actually: no. I'll guess you mean Pan Labyrinth's creature with the eyes in it's hand palms? Cool creature, I must admit!

Pan's Labyrinth was a interesting movie, but no, i'm talking about "Labyrinth" (1986), in a scene, Sara (the main character) falls into a hole full of hands, these hands do faces to talk with Sara

My but your pixel art amazes me. :) Do you use a pencil sketch for the hands then pixel over it? Or is it all from scratch? :?

in this case I first made some traditional rough sketches on paper, then quickly draw the hands in DeluxePaint, filling it up with the basic colors. Next I took a mirror, two lightsources as a reference (the hands shown are my own hands) and start adding details. Finally the dithering comes in play, which is most time-consuming. After that small details, like the frame and finishing touches like the braille and the stylized sign language.

Wow, no wonder everything looks great. :) How long does this process usually take? :)

longer than most people think it takes, but not so long that it frustrates me. This piece: approx 5 till 6 hours. Luckely I do not use very big canvas sizes for my work, so it stays in that 'comfort zone'
