Corelle for Sveidt

By
~SVeidts OC Corelle for the Erotic Fanart Challenge[link] . I totally love this character and could not not draw her <3

This is definitely not the most 'erotic' thing on dA, but it certainly was more of a challenge than I expected it to be. My intention was to keep it simple and comic-y with a clean outline and flat colours. WELL. Lets say I got carried away, and so the only flat colour here is that awful pink background (suggestions for how to improve it are welcome x_x).

It took quite a while before I managed to morph her comic style features into my own semi-realistic way of drawing. I'm still not sure if it worked, especially since she insisted on smiling despite my attempts to convince her to look serious >.>

Anyway. I'm happy with this drawing for many reasons. Now everyone should go read the comics! hop hop! --> [link]

This is a very well-drawn picture. I love her pose, her smile and lollipop (love it when the characters just come out), and the shading and rough lines are great. She looks very sweet; has sweeteyes and a sweet smile.

As far as the background:
The pink is a clash with the colors of her skin and clothing and.... arms. I would try using a similar red to the bra she's wearing, maybe a little darker, and give her a shadow underneath so it's no quite so flat. If red doesn't work, maybe a musty, earthy green or orange to follow the color scheme of her pants and skin, but not actually match it.

Good luck! This is a really cute picture!

Thank you so much for the feedback! \o/ She's a very sweet character indeed, I'm happy if I managed to draw that ^^

And yes, the pink clashes with... Everything. It's wonderful. I tried red and it worked pretty well, except the lollipop and her bra disappeared, but I think I'll keep experimenting until I find some suitable shade x_x Orange needs to be tested too!
I tried my usual dark red/brown as well, but it ate the outlines and her hair and it looked stupid. Colours, aaargh!

Thanks again for the input, I really appreciate it!

Lol. Great job experimenting! That's funny that the bra and lollipop disappeared :XD: When you mentioned that, I thought about making a red background with a gradient. That way you could make it lighter behind the lollipop, and darker on the other side. Give it a slant, too. Light on top left, dark on bottom right.

Hope that helps, too! If nothing seems to work right, who says she needs a background? Leave it white.

the gradient might be my saviour! lessee where this goes ^^

this always happen when i paint on a white background, i should always add the bg colour right from the start xD

I usually add the background color at the end. I might have an idea of what color I want back there, but ultimately, the colors I choose in the drawing makes the final decision. Everybody works differently, but there's no harm in experimenting like you're doing. It can only make us better! :;):

True that! I used to add the background last as well, but then I always ended up with the very problem I've had now as well; which colour to choose x_x then I started working on a coloured canvas which made everything easier for me. Colours have never been good friends of mine.. xD

BACKGROUNDS have never been friends with me. That's why I really don't have any in my drawings. I used to draw EVERYTHING with a detailed background as a kid, and finally realized he subject always got lost in the drawing, so I just quit doing backgrounds, since I obviously couldn't do it, right. Yours is simple enough, though.

I think she's cool ... those cyber arms are a bit unsettling, but that's just me :D
theOvercoat's avatar
Thank you! She's a wonderful character in many ways ^^ Imho the cyber arms and the story/issues/character development they bring is quite awesome C:
Lianthanis's avatar
Well, I know nothing about her or her story ... but I guess I can fix that :D

This is one of the greatest things I have ever seen. You have made the worst day of my life a little brighter. Much thanks and squeezes, buddy!

WHo was it that you wanted for me to draw again? I'll hop right to that.
theOvercoat's avatar
You're very welcome, I had tons of fun drawing her. Keep making awesome comics ^^

And you may pick any of my OCs [link] , I think I suggested Tonio. Although Wade (blue/black haired guy) would look cool in your style as well, so whomever you feel like really :)

I just thought you should know that I'll be drawing her arms like the way you have done here from now on XD

I love it when I see an image that makes what I do look like fan art of IT.
theOvercoat's avatar
omg wow, I was just trying to draw them like you draw them :) the lower arms were a bit tricky though so they look different..
