Chloe and Anton were sitting on uncomfortable, plastic chairs, in a hallway, by a door. A small woman from reception was standing across the thin hall, peeking through the window in the door, but neither Chloe nor Anton paid her any attention. They were busy with their phones. Chloe was reading an article about the latest mass shooting, Anton was tapping furiously at his screen, playing a shooter game. Chloe leaned over and glanced at his screen, then shook her head in disgust.
“What?” Anton asked monotonously.
“Those types of games desensitise people to violence.”
“Yeah, Whatever,” Anton continued to look down as he was yet to die that day, though he’d been playing for 2 hours straight, “in this universe, it helps not to be sensitive.”
