Jesus Christ is risen today! ALLELUIA! :w00t!:
Our triumphant Holy Day! ALLELUIA!

"Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die."

~ John 11:25-27

"But if it is preached that Christ has been raised from the dead, how can some of you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? If there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised. And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith. More than that, we are then found to be false witnesses about God, for we have testified about God that he raised Christ from the dead. But he did not raise him if in fact the dead are not raised. For if the dead are not raised, then Christ has not been raised either. And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins. Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ are lost. If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are to be pitied more than all men. But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the first-fruits of those who have fallen asleep. For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man. For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive."

~ 1 Corinthians 12-21

Christ, the Lord, is risen today, Alleluia!
Sons of men and angels say, Alleluia!
Raise your joys and triumphs high, Alleluia!
Sing, ye heavens, and earth, reply, Alleluia!

Love’s redeeming work is done, Alleluia!
Fought the fight, the battle won, Alleluia!
Lo! the Sun’s eclipse is over, Alleluia!
Lo! He sets in blood no more, Alleluia!

Vain the stone, the watch, the seal, Alleluia!
Christ hath burst the gates of hell, Alleluia!
Death in vain forbids His rise, Alleluia!
Christ hath opened paradise, Alleluia!

Lives again our glorious King, Alleluia!
Where, O death, is now thy sting? Alleluia!
Once He died our souls to save, Alleluia!
Where thy victory, O grave? Alleluia!

Soar we now where Christ hath led, Alleluia!
Following our exalted Head, Alleluia!
Made like Him, like Him we rise, Alleluia!
Ours the cross, the grave, the skies, Alleluia!

Hail, the Lord of earth and Heaven, Alleluia!
Praise to Thee by both be given, Alleluia!
Thee we greet triumphant now, Alleluia!
Hail, the resurrection, thou, Alleluia!

King of glory, Soul of bliss, Alleluia!
Everlasting life is this, Alleluia!
Thee to know, Thy power to prove, Alleluia!
Thus to sing and thus to love, Alleluia!

Hymns of praise then let us sing, Alleluia!
Unto Christ, our heavenly King, Alleluia!
Who endured the cross and grave, Alleluia!
Sinners to redeem and save. Alleluia!

But the pains that He endured, Alleluia!
Our salvation have procured, Alleluia!
Now above the sky He’s King, Alleluia!
Where the angels ever sing. Alleluia!

Jesus Christ is risen today, Alleluia!
Our triumphant holy day, Alleluia!
Who did once upon the cross, Alleluia!
Suffer to redeem our loss. Alleluia!

~ Charles Wesley (1707 - 1788)

Queen of Heaven
(said in place of the Angelus during the Easter Season))

V. Queen of Heaven, rejoice, alleluia.
R. For He whom you did merit to bear, alleluia.
V. Has risen, as he said, alleluia.
R. Pray for us to God, alleluia.
V. Rejoice and be glad, O Virgin Mary, alleluia.
R. For the Lord has truly risen, alleluia.

Let us pray. O God, who gave joy to the world through the resurrection of Thy Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, grant we beseech Thee, that through the intercession of the Virgin Mary, His Mother, we may obtain the joys of everlasting life. Through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.

Regina caeli

V. Regina caeli, laetare, alleluia.
R. Quia quem meruisti portare, alleluia.
V. Resurrexit, sicut dixit, alleluia.
R. Ora pro nobis Deum, alleluia.
V. Gaude et laetare, Virgo Maria, alleluia.
R. Quia surrexit Dominus vere, alleluia.

Oremus. Amen.

The Witnesses insist that Christ was resurrected as an invisible spirit, the body in the tomb having been vaporized or hidden somewhere to be brought out again during & after the millenium as a permanent display.

In short, God simply created a new Jesus and programmed him with the real Jesus' memories, leaving Jesus dead.

One counter-argument against all this, is that Christ showed doubting Thomas his wounds (the Witnesses said they were FAKE wounds, in fake bodies). The Witnesses insist that Christ created physical bodies and wore them as disguises (the gardener, etc.) and vaporized them when the need for them passed.

Is it any wonder why I will not even give a Witness the time of day ?

Don't believe that junk of info- that's from Jehovah's Witnesses. Never believe their teaching- they deny the Lord Jesus' deity, and make many other obnoxious claims about Jesus Christ. Jesus resurrected bodily, and not as a "spirit". Even in His physical body, Jesus could've shape-shifted, but then if He did so, then it would be kinda diabolical of Him. Jesus could make Himself invisible whenever He pleased, and He was said to even have bi-located. But to assert that His Resurrection was not bodily done, is just making God a liar.

No joke! Christianity is pretty pointless then. Or, to quote good ol' St. Paul: "If there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised. And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith." Can't put it more bluntly than that.

I blocked Nilopher -because his no-soul theology smacked of Witnesses, Adventists, and Armstrong. I say this here, because I stumbled here in examining this -zealot Nilopher.

Based on the Grunewald painting, I presume.
The crucifixion was too strong for many, in contrast to the glorious resurrection.

Yep!

I just always thought images of Jesus gently stepping out of the tomb always seemed a bit...anti-climactic, to say the least.
