Awesome- I know Hannover I have a good friend lives there. So now we know this pretty angel is found in at the least four countries, I would love to find out who the original pose model was some day. All the best and yes I will have photo up sometime very soon, thanks!

Gorgeous shot, and thanks for making a wallpaper of it!

There are at least two Monteverde Angels in New York City, for those interested

I adore her, she's so moody and tough looking. I have a new photo taken last week that I'll add to my gallery soon. :^>

Stupid me!  I overlooked the (for me) most vital info, the name of the statue. I played with the thought to find out anyway, but thanks to you I don't have to. Instead I can go directly to wikipedia and learn more about the statue: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Montever…

And I think you are right, the angel is a she. The English wikipedia confused me a bit because of "the deep and soft expression of grief which appears on his features; he holds a trumpet in his right hand", but in German it is the same - grammatically an angel is male, no matter if the (super)natural sex is female or male or something in between. ;-)

Thanks for the info and the :+fav:! :-D Looking forward to your photo :-)

Are you positive this angel is a lady? I think I don't have more photos of her or him, and I just am not sure.  Proposing this pic to group galleries I have in one group decided for "female angel statues" and in another for "male angel statues". ;-)

An interesting characteristic of angels, in the judeo-xian tradition is that they transcend having gender, they are supposedly androgynous creatures. So they can be whatever you want them to be!

Wonderful, I love it. We've got the same Statue over here on an old cemetery^^.

I am only mildly surprised. While selling identical copies of graveyard or garden statues is by far more typical for galvanised (electroplated) metal statues (which could be mass produced in factories) the phenomenon of serial production or independent creating copies of classical and not so classical statues was already known to the old Romans. Funnily enough in most cases some kind of area protection was achieved. You would not see the same statue twice in a city. This angel I found in Rome, Italy. Would be curious to learn where yours is, how far this model has made it into the world.

And thanks alot for the :+fav:. I appreciate it.
