Pigeon Point Lighthouse

The Pigeon Point Lighthouse is lit every year in a sort of celebration. This was the 135th anniversary of it's lighting and I stood out in the cold fog for over an hour waiting for the five minute window where they keep the fresnal lens from rotating. It was worth every second...
This photo doesn't do it jusice, but since I did it and got what I got, here it is!
Our photo club had a whole day field trip where we went to Santa Cruz, (took some surfer photos and just enjoyed watching them surf), Took some Monarch butterfly photos, and finally ended up here to take photos of the lighthouse lighting. Overall, very fun (and long) day).

Oh, and I chose transportation for the category since lighthouses were used as an aid to naviation of ships
