Better Days by themobius Better Days by themobius
Went for a backpack with my daughther last weeked. We hiked up to Lake Aloha in the Desolation Wilderness just West of Lake Tahoe.

It was beautiful.

It's pretty amazing up there. You can get a high country feel without having to be above 10,000 feet and so out of breath!

yeah, it gets hard to even move once you get to 11,000 ft.

Doesn't look all that welcoming; I guess this is the "Aloha" that means "goodbye." ;) Love the glow to everything, it gives it a somewhat supernatural look to it.

Ya...I was kind of freaked out trying to figure out what happened to those trees. They all look like they were just ripped off the stump...but...there is nothing around that could have caused an avalanche.

Perhaps something in the water weakened the wood and eventually caused them to rot and fall over... Quite a sight, anyway.
