I don't think their plan is very sound. Lots of unknown variables of course. But they are desperate and have really abandoned any ideas of self preservation.

The cult is pretty big, I doubt regressing a few adults would topple it. Plus the plan isn't about revenge its about trying to stop them from doing it to anyone else.
