Hi everyone! I know its been awhile...(5 years?!) but I want to discuss with you guys a new place for minimalists to talk to one another!

Yes a discord server chock full of us! This group has grown a lot since its inception waaaayyy back when Kruk and I first started collabing together. This group was a chance to increase people's awareness about what minimalism truly is as an art style. The fact of the matter is I value the community that has been created over these past 5 years and I want this group to grow more and more so that all are awesome contributor's art can be appreciated and used as desktop backgrounds or phone wallpapers or whatever!

This discord server is being created with that in mind and with the opportunity to talk to you guys! I have not been around all that much in these past 5 years but I want to make it up to you guys in some way. I want to keep this community going for a long time and I hope it keeps growing!

Hi everyone! Thanks for inviting me to the group. I really love minimalist art for anime. I am not an artist in any way. But I appreciate those that are. Last season I watched an anime called Seishun Buta Yarou wa Bunny Girl Senpai no Yume wo Minai (Rascal does not dream of Bunny Girl Senpai). This current season I am watching Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari (Rising of the Shield Hero). For those that do not know, Sakuta and Mai / Naofumi and Raphtalia are played by the same amazing voice actors Kaito and Asami. Their chemistry on both anime have been absolutely amazing. I had a neat idea, but with no artistic ability I can't exactly do much but give others the opportunity to have fun trying it themselves. A banner photo with each anime's duo on opposing sides of the image in minimalist style. Branching from there I thought they could be in one of the two situations I wrote in text on the image I threw together. Hell, maybe even try to throw the voice actors in there somehow haha! I would love to see the awesome art that could come from this. Seeing all the epic art here so far has been really enjoyable.

This opening speaks to your style. Just screenshot some scenes, change the background, reverse the image, or add your own spin on it and you are golden. As for the series itself, I'm still making my mind up about it. Enjoy.

This group feels weird... Most submissions feature detailed vector characters without a face. Why only minimalism on their faces, and why only vectors though?

To be honest, because we stretched the definition of minimalism and then newer people who wanted to mimic this specific style kept adding more and more detail, stretching the definition so far it lost its meaning. I'm the co-creator of this group, but I feel like my opinion shouldn't dictate what can or can't be uploaded to this group, especially since I don't upload anything myself anymore. Maybe we should change the name of the group, give this specific style of art a different name. But I'll leave that decision to the people who contribute to this group.

Thanks for the comment, it really got me thinking. And to anyone reading this; I'm not throwing shade at you, I'm not saying your art is bad, I'm saying we might need a different name for this style of art.
