WHat's ThAt?

Character  EskLocation  underwater
A good long while ago we had a big snowstorm here in Oregon and the power went out for several days. I worked on a commission till my iPad died, and I haven't been able to draw since. I sorta got knocked out of my rhythm and hit a block, not able to restart. I keep telling myself I have to get working on my comms again, people are waiting, but my creativity was just sapped. After a few days of mentally prepping and nudging myself I decided to do a comfort zone personal piece to jumpstart my spark.

So this is my esk Pond, I wanted to try and represent the grace and playfulness of otters and play with color contrast as well. This piece's story came to me as I painted it, I imagine Pond is playing by her boundary, the forgotten stone bridge, and this red gem fell into the water so she dived in after it to see what it is. How it got there, I've been thinking, perhaps a thief had stolen some treasure or riches and was on the run and used this stone bridge as a secret shortcut to get away from whoever is chasing him but he dropped one of his jewels as he was going over:happybounce:

Maybe someday I can make an actual story out of this and Pond could find the thief somehow and transform them into an esk too, but for now this is just an illustration of Pond investigating things in in her boundary/biome.
