I'm pretty proud of how this turned out; it's definitely an improvement compared to my first one, in many ways. This is now proudly (at least I hope it is) owned by my sister -who needs some good medieval or medieval inspired kit to wear it with.
Because one of the main purposes of this build was a time study (because some people have asked me some questions about my first cowl), now, some stats. Hours: 88:00:00-Cowl 2:30:00-Tassels 18:30:00-Embroidery
Total Time: 109:00:00
Materials: I'd guess somewhere around three 465 yard rolls of yarn, so, approximately 1,395 yards, or 1,275 meters of medium weight wool.
Also, because money was in mind while recording the time, I tried to work at a good brisk pace. Not so fast as to make mistakes and trip up, and not so slow as to be leisurely about it. After looking at the time involved making such a large item with this method, it's no surprise that it seems like the use of nålbinding was mostly limited to smallish things like socks and mittens.
