Thunder, cliché harbinger of doom,
But I dare not scoff
Or laugh it off.
You rattle my walls and shake my bones,
Send hope skittering like little stones,
Storming my courage with every boom.
But I dare not scoff
Or laugh it off.
You rattle my walls and shake my bones,
Send hope skittering like little stones,
Storming my courage with every boom.

Same in our difference
I spread my arms wide for you,
in light of how you felt.
But you mistook my intentions
You nailed my wings to a dogwood post,
before you realised my opinion was not different from you own.

A Girl and Her Dragon
Chapter 3 – A Place to Heal the Heart
By J.C. Solis
Though the cave was nice and cool for someone to try and get a comfortable rest in, Serena just could not bring herself to fall asleep all that well. The trauma of the previous days has left the poor girl in a daze and confusion. When she woke up she expected her mother to be by her side, with the gentle and caring woman caressing her daughter after hearing the horrible screams and shouts that the girl gave throughout the night – desperate for her to find comfort in someone whom she was close to. She expected to wake up in her room, to see the sunrise and the start of a new day of chores and play to take hold, of her to be back in her usual life of bliss and happiness.
But this morning would not be that morning, nor would it ever be a morning like that ever again. On opening her eyes, Serena was faced once again with the cold and hard reality of her situation. She was in a dark cave

I ran too fast,
couldn't see where I was going.
Now I've tried to outlast,
couldn't keep on showing.
What's going on?
Can't find the root cause
of my problem.
Life's too short,
keep tripping on,
no solving.
Hurts me more
when I can't breathe.
Keep going...
Keep Running...
Oh, oh, oh-ooh ooh.
Straining and struggling
Never looking back.
Keep going...
