This is from a Passion flower plant that belongs
to my next-door neighbour, but happily for me, it
grows over the fence and into my garden :D

I've never seen it have fruit on before, so I just
had to take a photo. I cut open one of the fruits,
and it was full of juicy red seeds, but I didn't have
the courage to taste them :fear: :giggle:
Well, I didn't want to risk poisoning myself hehe.
Can you eat the fruit, does anyone know ??

Apricot fruit is indeed edible. It also makes very fine wine...

My husband says he ate them as a young boy in Michigan and also in Tennessee. He describes them as sweet with a gelatinous texture around the seeds. They must be very ripe before eating them or they can be quite sour. The skin gets yellow and sort of wrinkled when ripened. He says the ones shown in your beautiful photo look quite green.

Apparently they are not poisonous and won't make you sick. But it may be wise to read up on them a little more before you eat more than a few. Enjoy!

I remember my mother had a passion fruit vine that crawled up our backward trellis, in Cleveland, Ohio. After we moved to California, I have never seen another plant, outside of this one.
