John S. Warmbier, 55, of Champaign, died on Thursday (Nov. 8, 2011) at Carle Foundation Hospital after his courageous battle with liver cancer.
He was born on July 17, 1956, the sixth child of Frank and Helen (Reinhart) Warmbier.
He is survived by his siblings, Ken (Diana) Warmbier of Sarasota, FL, Rita (Jer) Soff of Seminole, FL, Phyllis McGovern Duffy of Chicago, Yvonne (Louie) Maier of Champaign and Jerry (Judy) Warmbier of Champaign.
John's beagle, Molly, was his pride and joy. They were inseparable.
Dear friends, Gary Danenhower and Bob Watson were the "angels" by his side through his struggle with cancer. God bless you both. He loved you as brothers. Also, thanks to neighbor, John, who faithfully mowed our brother's yard when he was so weak.
Special thanks to Dr. Luyun and Dr. Neuwirth for their kindness and diligent care of our loving brother and friend.
John was an avid Cubs and Bears fan.

As per his wishes, cremation will be accorded and his ashes will be laid to rest with his parents at St. Mary's Cemetery, Champaign. Burial will be private.
