After reading "The Last Stand of the Wreckers", I decided I needed my own Generations-style Ironfist! Well, I preferably want all of them, but this was the easiest to tick off.
Ironfist is a partial repaint of Reveal the Shield Fallback, which is a great little toy in an uninspiring paintjob that unfortunately was a hard sell and so kept toystore shelves warm. I've liberated it with some new paint applications, and I can't help but wonder that if this was released as Ironfist in the first place, it might have sold better!
The blue and cream paints were applied by aerosol can, and were actually paint meant for cars! It was a bit of a steep learning curve as regards using sprays instead of brushes, but it is definitely an improvement over previous brushwork that I've done. The frysauce, silver, and optic colours were later applied with Q-tips. The blue optics really help to add character to this toy; certainly moreso than Fallback's cold, blank eyes. Oh, and I chiselled a hole in his head where his wound is!
Ironfist joins the rest of my Wreckers display. To complete my G-9 Wreckers, I need a custom Rotorstorm (for whom I've substituted HFTD Tomahawk here), the China Generations Springer (arriving next month), Fall of Cybertron Topspin and Twintwist, and iGear's hopefully upcoming Presser to stand in for Impactor.
Overall, I'm incredibly happy with how this guy turned out. I don't think I'll be putting him into vehicle mode again, mind.
