Intacanians, Inktober Day 23 - Ancient

Ah yes, my joy, my children, the intacanians. I love these old people. Featuring Dimas (black), his son Athanasios (gray) and Hippocrates (uncolored). To expalin the uncolored- they come in different... breeds? Races? The facial features vary a lot per race. Also neck length varies, with the exemeities being shown. Having a loner neck is rumored to mean you have royal ancestry.

The intacanians [or intics] are the 'original' race of beaked mammal on Iña, and the origin for the name of the continent, Intica. They have amazingly long lifespans - anywhere from 1000 to 3000 years have been the highest known- and are one of the few species still extant on the planet that lives so long (Iña birds being the other). 

Itacanians are renowned for being very intellectual, spiritual and for being, essentially, one of the first creators of an advanced civilization on Iña that was recorded. Unfortunately, after the Hyñi spread their plague, their numbers dwindled, and their empires fell- the intacanians now are a spread out race, and it is rare to see many of them at once, even if they are not extinct. Intacanians are, almost 100% of the time, strictly monogamous, even staying faithful to one partner after one has died, making them a symbolic creature in stories talking about love and constancy. They can also hibernate for many years at a time.
