A quiet rain had settled over Murkwood, covering the town in a pleasant coolness that was welcome compared to the oppressive heat often smothering the mudpuppy village like a woolen blanket. The lovely temperature and sweet smell of rain brought many residents out on their porches just to enjoy the ambience of it all, including a certain traveling kitter. Diya sat on the wooden platform watching Alta splash in puddles that pooled in the sagging walkways, leaping energetically in each causing plumes of water to erupt into the air.
