Oh man, there is so much going on here that I just love! The fact Saffron's drink has sparkles for steam, the SUGAR!!!!!!!!!! packets and the clock on the wall which tells meals instead of times. It's all so charming! Both the characters look absolutely gorgeous as well, I love the pattern on Peri's clothes and her eyes are just gorgeous.

I'm looking forward to listening to the podcast!

BEAUTIFUL work!!!! :heart::heart::heart:
I love the color scheme--the green and yellow, the soft warmth of the light, Saffron's warm colors contrasting with Peri's cool.
The baklava looks delicious, and I love that you put the logo on Peri's mug!
I also love the glow-y neon look to their names and the sparkly sugar floating magically into Saffron's cup.
And the sparkles under the floating tables! Having that little magical touch was brilliant! (I'm also fond of the clock.) :meow:

This is such a lovely piece. :aww:

Thank you! Thanks for helping me with it! I really loved having your input, and I think without our sessions I might have taken twice as long at least.

I absolutely LOVED watching you work!
It was like watching magic happen...*__*
And it's a ton of fun to work on art together--so much easier when it's turned into a social gathering, rather than trying to work on something alone.
There's something about getting real-time feedback, I think. I mean, we're used to giving comments on finished products, but it's really cool to be able to comment on something that's still coming together. And it was super neat to watch how this went from initial sketch to fully inked and colored goodness! I couldn't believe what you'd done with the background! (The floating tables were my favorite touch, I think--you know how often table legs get in the way when you're sitting down to eat and wanting to stretch out your legs a bit? I'd love to have something like that!) I also loved seeing you block in the initial color scheme, and selecting the color palette in the first place was super cool. I can't help but feel that the more I watch you, the better I might get handling color myself. It's still such a tricky subject for me! It's part personal intuition, and part basic color theory. There are certain "rules" that just work with color, and the rest is kind of left up to personal choice.

It's also very inspirational to see you go from "sketch" to "finished" because I get distracted and give up far too easily.
When you were sketching and picking through references, it reminds me of the joy of drawing and makes me want to do it all the more.
(And it was really awesome to see you shaping hands--they're so HARD, but your mitten method looks really sound to me.)
You're a good influence! :)

It was great watching you work too. I loved it when you started drawing the flames. They came out so quick and energetically, like fire itself!

Ahhh flames, my old sketching standby. :B
I had papers and notebooks full of little flame creatures throughout my early teenage years.
I drew them like I draw goblins now. (Frequently.) ;p

Weird how our art goes in phases. I remember I had a fairy stage, then a mermaid stage, then I entered a goblin stage but I don't think I ever posted any of the goblin drawings.

Share the goblins!!!! (Both our galleries deserve goblin love.) :giggle:
Hey, I think I had both fairy and mermaid phases, too! (Weird the way that works.)

I don't think I have any handy (they're mostly notebook doodles) but I can always doodle new ones!
