Doin' ok....preparing for the misery of summer here in Arizona.  Any day now monsoon season will start and the humidity will descend on us along with about 110 degree temps until about mid-september.  Again....cant' wait for winter!
theheek's avatar
sounds very hot .........what are monsoons are they a lot of water in a storm that's what I think of when I think of it? how hot is it in the winter?
StarfireArizona's avatar
In the summer (June-September) it is well over 100.....between 100 and 118.  Before monsoon season the air is hot but dry....so it's somewhat tolerable.  Monsoon means humidity and constant late afternoon dust storms with occasional rain.  Monsoons in the orient are a totally different animal than it is in the desert.  There it means heavy wind driven rain.  Here we get HUGE walls of dust that swoop in over the land and make a mess of everything.  Most times I just finish filling my horses 20 gallon water bucket when one hits and makes total mud of the water and I have to dump it and refill it.  Aggravating!!!!

Winters, with the exception of this last winter, are glorious.  Normal daytime temps are 60's and 70's....with nights in the high 30's and 40's.  This past winter it never really cooled down much.  We were a constant 10 degrees above normal.  I had to leave fly masks on the horses all winter to keep the little monsters out of their eyes when they usually die off for a few months and they poor animals get some relief.  The flies are horrid this year because they just kept breeding all winter!!  Hope this winter is a normal one and we get some cool days and nights!

that's crazy ness-so hot and humid and then monsoons craziness sounds very annoying well I hope all else is well with u nm going on here going bat shit crazy bored cause I didn't take any classes this summer cause it got all messed up when I could finally sign up after dealing with financial aid giving them the right forms then classes started so soon and now I am seriously bored and rather miserable ..................how many horses do u have?
StarfireArizona's avatar
I have only 1 horse now....down from 4 when we first moved here.  Heartbreakingly, due to finances I had to rehome my beautiful mare and my retired TB racehorse.  My neighbor across the street offered me a sweet senior paint gelding 1.5 years ago....but always beware of horse people giving away horses.  Come to find out he had a leg injury that I just didn't know what to do to make him comfortable, so a couple months ago we trailered him to a rescue group in Tucson who got him the vetting he needed and now he is in a wonderful home with another senior gelding.  But the one I have I will NOT part with until I am cold and dead.  He was born with me and he will stay with me!

Monsoon just started within the last week, and Thursday night we had or first major dust storm and a whopper of a wind blown rain storm!  Was not expecting that so soon!  The temps do go down a bit but the humidity makes up for it!  Can't wait for November!!!!

So sorry you're bored without classes.  My daughter tends to be the same way....a perpetual student for sure...even at 32!  Try to use this time to do something you have always wanted to do :)  Your art is always a great place to channel your energy :)

that must make u sad iam sure that the horses are like dogs in the sense of being full fledged family members
speaking of which my doggy is sick she has this horrid infection that causes her to pee a gazzilion times a day even in the house we thought she had this other thing called cushings which we gave her pills for but the pills only masked the infection...................
I would be very cautious if a horse owner were giving said horse away and its good that u managed to rescue him
so the horse that u refuse to part with was born with u I don't blame u iam sure hes a great horse
sounds like interesting weather to say the least
yha I hate not having class right now I wish I did and its at least another month to go before I can go back
feels like its dragging taking forever ......................

You can add definition to her hand and face by using a combination of the sharpen and burn tools.  See this example sta.sh/021w9xksn4cm Also, the bottom queen should be facing in the opposite direction from the top queen.
theheek's avatar
oh ok I didn't realize that I fixed it up so I was hoping u could check it out at ur earliest convenience
Nolamom3507's avatar
It is getting there. Please look at my other reply about blending the transition between the two queens by using the clone tool.
theheek's avatar
ok I will thank u so very much for ur help with this challange it was harder than I expected
Nolamom3507's avatar
yes!  however, there is some sort of whitish line between the two queens now instead of the smooth transition.  Try some judicious use of the clone stamp to make a smooth transition like this sta.sh/0stm1qmlikg

This is a very simple design, so it would help to really work on the execution. There are lines being created by the textures, where one color meet another. These areas should be blended to that the color runs into the other, not one stop and the other start suddenly. Also, there are other flaws, like there is a thin line showing up on the upper left side, and the lower right side.  The two hands looks too soft and fuzzy, not like they are real hands.  So go over your design slowly to find all the areas that need to be edited. Oh, don't forget, the model is always the most important part of a image, right now it's the Queen symbols. They are dark and bright while she is soft and fuzzy.

thank u very much for the corrections I agree with u  I tried fixing it so if u have a chance come back and check it out if you don't mind

This looks so much better, but it's still too large and takes longer to load. Now it's 60mb. :(
theheek's avatar
now what do u think?

Just an fyi on file sizes - saving in bitmap is probably the largest file size. Next would be png format. Smaller than that (in kb) is jpeg. Smaller still is gif.
