I have needed something for a long time. Some sort of internal repair. A new connection with life, something that has nothing to do with my hectic insane life. My mom is dying of breast cancer and I went out of town for a week to unwind. I needed to step away from nursing mom for a short short time and I needed to take pictures. Pictures of something. I didn't care what it was or who it was. So i did just that and now that I am home, I realize how therapeutic it all was.

I went to WPPI this year. I can't see spending hundreds of dollars on photo classes with photographers who really have nothing to talk about. You either have it or don't. All the technical stuff can be easily learned in a more practical manner. I just don't understand the common sense in the whole thing. I loved hearing Joe Buissink talk about being a photographer and how he had developed his waning passion early in his career. It was very enlightening. very. He also has two children with Autism and I really appreciated his words and photo show of Autistic children. I think the most beneficial part was just getting away for a week! The weathe
