The fall of Legate Marrion

While Marrion was very successful in his campaigns, when he came to the capital of the Windrai kingdom, Windrai Inunum, he found nothing more than a flux infested hive. Their, he would make his final, heroic assault. It is unknown what became of him, though his army took massive losses in the battle, and he himself would not return alongside his men. Officer's who made it back with their disheveled brigades would claim that the mission was accomplished, and the city was no more. Legate Marrion would become a folk-hero of Flare lore for his efforts and final sacrifice, though parts of his army would return to Tori Isle Graham to find an equal wasteland to that in which they just came from. Whatever brought down the Windrai had also destroyed both Graham & Greymoor for a second time, and all attempts to reclaim the Archipelago were permanently suspended. 
Trade routes were abandoned, and the Dominion, desiring continued trade, would sponsor new expeditions not to the east, but to the unexplored western seas, where Torian trade hubs would wither, and Torius would be forced to adapt, focusing more on invention and industry, while Phonetix became the lead sponsor of trade and colonialism.
