Description
An Operator of an arcane infusion machine, and a member of one of the highly important Infusion Guilds. The Infusion Guilds held sole ownership of and rights to operate Infusion machines, (save the Empress and Duchy themselves) due to their high cost to manufacture, maintain, and the skill required to operate.
The Infusion machine operates strangely. Some would describe it as a far more complex 3D printer. It takes concepts from your mind and translates that into functional objects, to where gifted individuals who can properly imagine devices will be able to assemble them through this machine. A mix of psionic interfacing with a Elarium interface like stated here, will translate thoughts into functional design while calculating what would be required in manufacturing. This process is innately imperfect however, and the arcanum used to operate the infusion matrix naturally brings about instability that only skilled technicians can properly account for.
The device has limits, particularly only producing smaller objects (at maximum, they must fit within a 3m cube), and will become increasingly unstable the longer the infusion process lasts, or if an improper understanding of the object is conveyed. This process can also become unstable if 'balance' is not maintained in construction. Though why this occurs is not entirely understood, the Guildsman have followed this line of thinking down to a science. Heavily regulating and overseeing the construction process of an machine, measuring each stone to precise specifications, and maintenance and cleanliness are encouraged.
Special electrical inlays are also built into the process to further help in the stabilization process, balancing the local vis aura and suppressing damage in trade for producing liquid or gaseous flux. Fluctuations in the vis field detected around pedestals will trigger an electrical signal to immediately activate a local stabilizer to discharge. Though they will naturally generate lots of heat in this process and need time to cool down in between.
Only a few infusion machines exist in large cities, or one or two within the vicinity of villages, and a fee is paid out based on the complexity of the recipe. Materials required for manufacture are either brought by the commissioner or included as part of the fee (with a notable upcharge and lengthened waiting period). A comprehensive description and design of the planned device must be approved by the local Guild supervisor before materials required and payment can be discussed, as well as a scheduled time for manufacture. More common knowledge devices or materials requiring infusion do not necessitate comprehensive description, and consist of the vast majority of commissions.

Been a while since the last comment so time to put some thought into this. A guild being built around the infusion altar makes logical sense to me. Do like how it seems as if the process is not fully understood. I also do like that there has been advancements made to keep the process as stable as possible, as I personally have a lousy track record with the infusions. I do have to state my curiosity of the machines that are in charge of maintaining the stability of the infusion altar. As to how difficult they are to maintain them as well as any kind of space requirements for the set up.
