Tonight is the opening of Hero Complex Gallery's group show "Quotes" featuring works inspired by famous words / lines / expressions mentioned by actors, philosophers, athletes and everyone else in pop culture.

I decided to go with "Be Like Water" by the great Bruce Lee. As Bruce Lee mentioned in his 1971 interview held in Hong Kong, these were his exact words:

"Be like water making its way through cracks. Do not be assertive, but adjust to the object, and you shall find a way around or through it. If nothing within you stays rigid, outward things will disclose themselves.

Empty your mind, be formless. Shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle and it becomes the bottle. You put it in a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Now, water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend."

These are truly genius words in my opinion, not only is Bruce Lee a master martial artist but a very wise man as well. His words are truly inspirational.

In this case Bruce has taken the form of a Dragon...
