Hey, how are you all? I’m not much for blogging about my personal life, but I thought I’d let you in on my current situation. One week ago, I got my degree in journalism. The same day, I moved to a city I’ve never set foot in before and the day after that I started my new job as a local news reporter for a Swedish newspaper called “Smålandsposten” (in the city of Växjö).
So things have gone from hectic to hectic! But I’m in a good mood and try to adapt as well and fast as I can. I already published articles over two spreads in the newspaper (as well as got it on the front page) so that’s pretty damn cool, ain’t it?
I’m set to work here until June, with a big change of expanding over the summer, when they scream for subtitutes. Hopefully I can set my foot in as a feature reporter then! Incidentally, I’m not giving up on my artist career. On the contrary; since work as a journalist is very sporadic and seldom comes with steady employment, I’m going to pursue my dream to work as an animator even harder. I will be busy working on my portfolio during spring and try to fetch an illustrator job or two. I will also open up for commissions, so stay tuned!
Here’s a little peek of my cozy bedroom in the house I’m renting!
Complete with my guard crab and Fijian cannibal fork to fend off intruders!
