"They're emerging through the beaming shield."

This is my favorite Star Trek film!

The Excelsior had an even harder time trying to get through the neutral zone than the Enterprise did.

Yeah, Kor or Koloth was there if memory serves well...

That episode, if I remember correctly, had Kang instead.

For a few days, it's been so cold on my side of the planet, that it seemed like I was on Rura Penthe.
*shakes off cold chill*

Getting here as well. It's -8 degrees Celsius now, and -17 is inbound.

Yikes! Try not to freeze!

Was surprised the Klingons had such little border defense and internal patrols considering how militarized they are...

Most of it probably was propaganda...

Remember too this is post-Praxus and so now the Klingon military's hurtin' BADLY for resources prolly, the Klingon military's probably never been weaker, but in the graciousness of the Federation they decided 'No, we're not going to attack them while they are down like this.  That would be most dishonorable and we've NEVER win them over then.  No, we're gonna use this opportunity to hopefully truly show them we can be the best allies they've ever had if they'd just stop with the paranoia.' xD

Althoguh I'm more a militaristic than a pacifist type (no liberal crap for/from me), Starfleet did the right thing. The Klingons would have went full Kamikaze on the Federation's ass, going down in a blaze of glory. If thez had to die, they'd take the Federation with them, 300 style. Although the war would have resulted in the annihillation of the Klingon race, it would have also left the Federation in ruins, easy prey for the Romulans or the then-upstart Cardassians.

I always imagined Rura Penthe as looking a little like Kessel. Potato-shaped. Barely massive enough to hold an atmosphere.

The Klingon judge *did* after all call it the 'Penal Asteroid'.

The few images I have found showed it as round.

Might be a rogue planet then.

Stunning angle. Light coming in from inconsistent sides, as usual, but the colour scheme is gorgeous ;)

Thanks... I guess...

There needs to be more movie VI fanart out there... it's nice to see this one! :) I use Rura Penthe as a joke so often whenever I'm being sent or dragged somewhere I don't want to go.... :XD: Do you have a favorite Star Trek movie out of the original six, BTW?

TUC is my favourite, followed by TWOK.

Those are great choices! :) I really like TUC too. My #1 favorite would have to be TVH, but TUC isn't far behind. :aww:
