Returning to duty by thefirstfleet Returning to duty by thefirstfleet
"Dockmaster's log, Utopia Planitia Fleet Yards - The four-months long refit of the USS Enterprise is now complete. After their battle over Veridian, we had to re-assemble the wee lassie from scratch. I always said the best way of diplomacy if a fully loaded phaser bank... and the Enterprise's new Type-XII phasers are guaranteed to make a good impression. Not to mention these new quantum torpedoes... if only we'd had them in my time..."

In my series of stories, the Galaxy Class Starship was eventually upgraded with Quantums. Along with most ships. Photon Torpedoes just don't really cut it most of the time, so it's nice to have that option on hand.

It makes sense. In classic pre-ENT fanon, the TOS ships were built with acceleratos canons and lasers, only to be upgraded with photon torpedoes and phasers later on.

Yeah, but in my stories. It's to counter the Borg Invasion that they suspect is coming. (think the Destiny Novels, but later on. It's only implied in-universe, but out of universe, it is coming.)

My ship is the Century-class USS Endeavour NCC-81923, launched in 2410.

There are images of her in my gallery done by Jetfreak (with more to come), along with an MSD created on commission by larundel.
Jetfreak will have the model of the Endeavour on file, and unusualsuspex will have the Century-class model as well  (he did an ortho for me).  I can ask Jetfreak to send you the model if you want?

This could technically co-exist with the NCC-1701-E, although maybe not as a museum ship like the NCC-1701-A became.

It's actually in my Polaris universe, where the D survived the Battle of Veridian. The Ent-E as we know it was never built (or, more likely, the ship was built under a different name and hull number).

Capt. Log: Four months and we are finally done. Scotty and Geordi really began to annoy me but all is done now and we are ready to leave Utopia Planitia by tomorrow. Starfleet just gave us our new tour which will lead us to the outskirts of the alpha quadrant to "test" the new systems. I think that they want me out of the way but kathry assured me that they really want to test the systems that Scotty and his team installed. Well I will follow the new orders what else can I do.

Capt. Log: Ship and crew work perfectly. The new installed phasers and the Quantum torpedoes are really impressive I have to congratualte Mr. Scott when I see him the next time. We will set a new course to meet with Starfleets newest science project the Sovereign class to have a simulated battle and all in all, see what she is capable of.
I...don't know but something tells me whenever I look at its scematics, that I...I dont know but it I have the feeling that I should be on one of those ships...

I had wondered what would have happened to the Enterprise if the saucer section didn't crash. Or if Geordi didn't forget about ejecting the warp core when it was about to blow.

I don't think he forget, he said that the Magnetic interlocks ruptured which is part of the WPS (Warp propulsion system). I believe the magnetic interlocks are a part of the Ejection system similar to how turbolifts run on rails the warp core most likely runs down magnetic rails during the ejection and the Magnetic interlocks keep the warp core in the rails until the entire core is ejected, there's also an option to eject the anti-matter pod assemblies. At least that's my theory, Geordi also said that there was nothing he could do about it indicating that the shut down and Ejection systems were most likely (and predictably in the case of Galaxy class Starships) off-line. like I said it's just a theory.

Sadly the Galaxy class ship for all it's impressive appearance proved to be very "fragile".

Nearly every one of them is seen dying in combat often with all hands. And sadly few of them ever made full advantage of using just the "battle section" when going into a known combat environment.
