Wow the last journal posted was in 2016, I'm a little late!
Updates: I'm starting my second year at Rowan in the fall. There's going to be two days out of the week where I have 8 am's and I'm not looking forward to it lol I mean, at least it's not everyday.
I'm looking for a second job. I've been getting a couple more days (which means a couple more hours, small shifts) so it hasn't been too bad with work but I still need another job for a) more money and b) just to have something to do instead of sitting around all day. Actually, I have been sketching, watching shows, and just generally getting things done, so I haven't exactly been just sitting around.
I've been filling up my sketchbook lately and it'll soon be the first one I've completed. There's a lot of crappy drawings in there but for the most part it actually has a lot of good stuff too. I should start submitting those and maybe even start one of those 'one sketch a day' challenges.
A lot of the sketches are of my OCs so there's def a lot of Fee in there. I've also been trying to develop my other characters. Robo Cat is getting a complete make over and I've tried a bunch of different looks for Sitara. Remember her? That really bad Rouge copy? Only she was a rabbit? with wings? *cringe* I'm also doing that thing where I'm trying to incorporate all my characters into one universe. I'm struggling with Sitara's role.
Anyway, there's sketches of other characters like Carmelita Fox, Plata Peligrosa, and Ladybug. Speaking of which, me and Lyndsey, my bro's gf, finished the first season of Miraculous and can't wait for the second season in the fall. We really like the show but think that they should change a few things up. I know with the type of animation they do it's expensive so there's a lot of reused animations and just the same scenes replayed every episode *cough* transformation scenes *cough* I feel like they should at least do a new scene for their transformations but I would prefer if they just left them out of the show entirely. I feel like it's just a waste of time. I do like the style and quality though. Also did you know that that show was intended for teens/young adults with political themes? They scratched that and made it a kids show. I'm a little disappointed but either way it's still a good show. I just feel like there's more potential.
So I'm prob going to submit a colored Ladybug sketch sometime today. I feel like I'm slowly getting better at drawing people. They are starting to look less awkward haha.
Things unrelated to art: I've went to Maine this year in a cabin with no water, electricity, heat etc. It was really fun! We didn't see any moose or bears though but I did see a coyote and an owl which was really cool. We went on a hike at Acadia which is on the shoreline with all these huge rocks we walked across. We also went on a mud run which was really fun, I almost fell off lol We also broke down in Connecticut on the first day heading up there and had to stay in an inn. Our friend accidentally put diesel in the car and blew the engine. But we got back on the road the next day so that was good. We also came home and stopped at Boston and Salem, Mass. They were so cool. There's a restaurant called Dick's Last Resort and it's where the waitresses and rude to you. (it's what they're known for) they were so funny. Our's just threw the menus on the table and talked back to us. She gave us paper hats where she wrote insults on them. Mine was "four eyes three nipples." hahaha The food was really good too, a little pricey but good.
That's pretty much all other than going to the Celtic Fling in PA last Saturday and my cousin's grad party last Friday. I danced all night and there was this really cool photo-booth that was just a round screen on a stand and it was a touch screen set on a timer. I got four strips of pictures. I love photo-booths! I also have an October trip to Salem so that should be really fun. I'll make a journal on that. But yeah, that's it! I promise to try and be a bit more active here!
