Our first affiliate contest starts today!

If you're a member of Stewed-Tomatoes and/or ManipulateThis, you can enter the contest from either group;however, you can only have a total of 2 entries in the contest.

BEFORE YOU GET STARTED ON YOUR ENTRY, AN IMPORTANT REMINDER:

I always include this information with our challenges and contests because it is very important to me.

There are more and more pre-cut out stock for us to use now than there were eleven years ago when I started at deviantArt; AND there are a many more stock accounts that have 3D Rendered stock.

FIRST, Make Sure That The Cut Outs Are Legitimate Stock, not photos that the deviant is redistributing illegally. You do not want to contribute to someone's rights being infridged upon.

NEXT, we at ManipulateThis are Traditional Photomanipulators who use photo stock: However, it is okay to use 3D Rendered Stock with your Photo Stock. If you DO, PLEASE CATETEGORIZE AS DIGITAL ART > MIXED MEDIA, because that's really what it is.

You will find many good looking 3D Rendered stock that look like photos, so BE CAREFUL when searching and downloading!

OUR NEW CONTEST

Our Affiliate Contest is a called "Survival Road" and it features the model stock of :devmizzdstock:, lucretia-stock, BlooDoveStock, jademacalla, nemesis19, and magikstock.

CONTEST THEME

The Main Theme Is Living In A Post-Apocalyptic World; But I'm Speaking Of A World Long After The Apocalypse Where Human Kind Has Learned To Do What They Need To Survive.

Think movies like Terminator: Salvation (2009), The Book Of Eli (2010), Priest (2011), and the current television series, The Waling Dead (2010- ). All of these have groups of people coming together to survive. Yes, of course, there are always someone or someones who will take advance of the situation, take advantage of the weak, and that's
why they must rely on some sort of weapon, but as Colonel Muster says in the 1985 move, Clue, "There is safety in numbers."

So The Survival Road Contest Is About A Group Of People Sticking Together To Survive.

Do Animals Also Survive? Of Course Some Will, So Include Them! It could be a little girl with her cat, a family with their dog, or a man fighting off a mountain lion!

In Addition, This Contest Is About Traveling In A Post-Apocalyptic World. You Must Include At Least One Post-Apocalyptic Style Vehicle; that is, a Car, a Truck, Or a Motorcycle.

Please watch the Countdown Clock on our HOME page for the exact time of the due date in your area. Late entries will be added to the gallery but will not be accepted for the competition.

THIS IS WHAT WE'RE DOING

The Environment You Create Is Your Version Of A Post-Apocalyptic Society.

You Must Used Your Choice Of At Least Two Model Stocks From The REQUIRED STOCK Found Below. NO LONE SURVIVOR, PLEASE!

Of Course, Please Use Other Appropriate Stock That Will Complete Your Post-Apocalyptic Scene.

THE REQUIRED VEHICLE

You Must Have At Least One Vehicle In Your Environment: Car, Truck, Or Motorcycle.

Okay, all of you beautiful members , this is really what the contest is about.

Your Post-Apocalyptic Group Is Traveling, And They Need Vehicles.

I am NOT a Mad Max fan, have never been, and have never even seen the ones with Mel Gibson; but then Warner Bros. Pictures brought us George Miller's Mad Max:Fury Road (2015).

Your Vehicle(s) Should Be Made Of Parts Of Anything. BE CREATIVE! In Our Post-Apocalypse World, Any Part, Any Object Can Be Found Or Made In Abandoned Factories And Warehouses; Mankind Has The Ingenuity And The Tools To Put Things Together And Make Them Work.

Your Vehicle(s) Can Be Made Of All New Parts Or With New Parts And Old Parts. It/They Can Have Objects That Don't Really Belong On A Vehicle!

Your Vehicle(s) Can Be A Sport Car, A Tank, A Two-Seated Cycle, A Four Wheeler; It's What Ever You Want For Your Travelers.

Your Vehicle(s) Doesn't Have To Be Practical Or Work In The Real World. Go Wild!

Make Your Vehicle(s) Fit Your Survivors. Are They Rough, Tough, And Gnarly? Make Your Vehicle Rough, Tough, And Gnarly! Do They Simply Want To Get Through The End Of The Day Without Any Trouble? Then Give Them Something More Useful For Them.

We've never done anything like this before, so I don't have many examples, but I did take an original photomanipulation from a previous challenge and edited it some hoping this will help you see what we are doing. Believe me, this is a simple car. I will do something
much more creative for the contest and I want you to also. This is simply an example!

Remember: We Are Artist Who Use Photomanipulation As Our Medium. You CAN And SHOULD:
Make sure that the direction of your Light is consistant through out your scene.
Edit a stock as you need to for the final result that you want: Remove or Add Something, Change Color, Up/Lower Saturation, etc.
Use Brushes, Textures, Special Techniques And A Little Show Of Special Effects To Enhance Your Over All Image.
Create a dynamic Scene!

WHAT TO DO WHEN YOUR DEVIATION IS COMPLETED--For COMPETITIVE AND NON-COMPETITIVE ENTRIES

First, in the Artist's Comments box, make sure you post that your deviation is for the "Survival Road" Contest at ManipulateThis and Stewed-Tomatoes and
include BOTH group icons.

Second, have the level you're entering under (Level 2 for Beginners; Level 3 for Intermediate; Level 4 for Advance).

Choose your level carefully and accurately. A wrong level can affect your success in the group, and I want everyone to succeed!

If you're not sure about your level, please read a description of each level in the rules.manipulatethis.deviantart.com/… , or contact me and I'll be happy
to view your gallery and make a decision on your best fit for our group. Please don't go up a level until you and I decide that you are ready.

No Changing Levels From One Challenge/Contest To Another! If you are not happy with a deviation, and still want to participate, please select NON-COMPETITIVE (follow instructions below
for Non-Competitive).

Once you've uploaded to your art account, submit your deviation to ManipulateThis by selecting the group from the "Submit To Group" link on the right hand side of your original deviation.
Or, if the group name is not there, select "Type A Group Name" and add our name. Submit to the FEATURED folder.

Your entry must be approved before it's placed into the FEATURED gallery. I always move from the FEATURED folder to the challenge/contest/activity folder, so don't worry about that.

Remember, deviations that are NOT for the contest will be declined.

You will receive a confirmation message at your art account if the entry was accepted or not. If it's not accepted within a reasonable amount of time, check your Correspondence
messages to see if you received a comment telling you why.

Please take care of any problem as soon as possible and reply to the comment so that we can accept your entry.

Sometimes I'll send you a note from your deviation telling you that something needs to be altered before the end of the contest. Your entry has NOT been removed from the
contest in such cases.

IMPORTANT! If the above happens and you do not delete the original deviation from your gallery, please send a group note so that I know to remove the original entry.

WHAT TO DO WITH A "NON-COMPETITIVE" ENTRY

Please follow the requirements for the contest even if you are not competing.

Please include the same information in the Comments box as noted above for Competitive Entries.

This contest is EPIC and I have faith that you're going to do a stupendous job, no matter what your skill level; however, don't forget that I'm here to help.
