Episode 5 - My Brother's Keeper (Part 2)'He's been behind that rock a very long time,' Yanit remarked.
'Maybe the ball wasn't so easy to find,' said Alex.
'Ah, look – there he is!' said Fadil. 'Safin! Safin, come over here!'
Slowly and mechanically, Safin altered his course and walked up to Fadil, Yanit and Alex.
'We have some very good news for you, Safin,' said Fadil. 'We've just decided that soccer skills are to become a permanent fixture of the Medjai training regime, and I am to be Head Soccer Coach!'
'Congratulations, bro,' said Safin.
'Ah, but that's not the best news,' said Alex. 'I saw what you were doing out there, Safin.'
'You... you saw what I was doing?' said Safin, sounding uncomfortable with the idea.
'On the football pitch,' Alex elaborated. 'Your footwork is something very special, and for that reason we've decided that you should be Junior Assistant Soccer Coach! How does that sound?'
'It sounds very nice,' said Safin. 'Thank you.'
'How about that, Saf?' Fadil grinned, slapping his brother on the back

My Brother's Keeper
Alex and the Minotaur were sitting opposite each other on the floor of the Great Cavern, both with their eyes closed. Alex was holding one of the Minotaur's hands between both of his.
'You're remembering when Imhotep opened the doorway to the Underworld in Gibraltar,' said Alex. 'And now you're thinking about the battle with the Jinn. You're picturing me... I'm plucking Imhotep out of the whirlwind and throwing him through the portal.'
'Enough,' said the Minotaur, opening his eyes and withdrawing his hand. 'That is quite amazing, Alex. It has only been two months, and this new power has developed further than I ever believed possible.'
'It's developed too far, if you ask me,' said Alex.
'In what way?'
'I keep getting flashes of what people are thinking whenever I touch them, even if we just brush past each other in the corridor or something.'
'We can work on that,' said the Minotaur. 'It's just a matter of

Jack of All Trades
Alex was standing in the centre of the Great Cavern with a small shield strapped onto his right arm and a blindfold over his eyes. The Minotaur was standing about ten metres away from him. Making as little noise as possible, the Minotaur drew a handful of daggers from behind his back and threw them at Alex in quick succession. The sound of metal on metal rang through the cave as Alex used the shield to deflect the daggers and send them tumbling to the floor.
'Enough,' the Minotaur said at length.
'I didn't miss any, did I?' said Alex, removing the blindfold and taking a look at his handiwork.
'No,' said the Minotaur, 'you got them all again.'
Without any warning, the Minotaur removed his right hand from behind his back and hurled the final dagger at Alex. Alex caught it in his left hand and tucked it into his belt.
'Nice try,' he said, flashing the Minotaur a grin.
'I think that must be all for today,' the Minotau

The Wisdom of the Elders
Ardeth Bay was sitting at his desk, sorting through a stack of papers, when Yanit stuck her head around the door.
'You wanted to see me, Ardeth?' she said.
'Ah, Yanit,' said Ardeth, looking up at her. 'Yes, I did. I'm just going through the mail, and I've come across something that I think you'll be very interested in.'
Yanit entered the room, followed by Alex. Ardeth raised his eyebrows when he saw that their fingers were entwined, but he made no comment on the fact.
'This invoice informs me that the new plane will be delivered sometime between eight a.m. and five p.m. tomorrow,' said Ardeth, placing the piece of paper into Yanit's free hand. 'Perhaps you could try very hard not to crash this one, hmm?'
Yanit read through the invoice and smiled.
'Oh, I am glad it's finally coming,' she said. 'I'll be able to start my flight training programme with the new recruits!'
'Flight training programme?' Ardet

The Scarab's Revenge
Alex stared up at the Scarab, and at the terrified Yanit dangling from the creature's mandibles. He forced himself to stay as still as possible, waiting for the monster to speak again.
'Everything comes to he who waits,' the Scarab chuckled. 'And I have waited so very long for this moment. You are mine now, boy. I know you will do anything to stop me from ripping this girl in half. So, let's get started. Walk back to the cave entrance – slowly, mind – and reach onto the shelf of rock to the top left of the fissure.'
Alex did as he was told. As he reached onto the shelf, his hand closed around cold metal.
'What do you feel?' said the Scarab.
'I think it's a pair of manacles,' said Alex.
'Manacles, correct,' said the Scarab. 'Far less elaborate than your own, but far more suited to your position in our little drama. Bring them over here.'
Alex took hold of the rusty manacles and walked slowly ba

The Supreme Council
A giant airship stood on the desert sand a few metres away from a seemingly normal rock formation. Rick and Evy were approaching a particular point on the rock-face, each grasping a large suitcase, while Alex and Jonathan followed a short distance behind them. When Rick and Evy were almost at the formation, the illusory door to the secret headquarters of the Order of the Medjai shimmered out of existence and Ardeth Bay appeared. He greeted Rick and Evy warmly, and engaged them in conversation.
'Well,' Alex sighed, as he took in the scene before him, 'I guess there's no turning back now.'
'Not getting cold feet about taking up your position as Supreme Medjai, are you?' Jonathan asked him. 'Surely you've done all the hard parts already – giving Imhotep a damned good kicking and sending him back to the Underworld and so forth?'
'I have a feeling that wasn't actually the hardest part,' said Alex, 'but I guess I
