The Book of Love: EpilogueEPILOGUE: THE REWARDS OF SUCCESS
The engine of the yellow, open-topped double-decker bus roared and strained as it struggled to pull the large, well loaded vehicle up one of the steepest roads in Whitby.
"He's pretty good, that tour guide, isn't he?" Beast Boy yelled over the din. "I wish we'd done this the last time we were here."
"I'd cut out a few of the deliberately awful jokes if I were him," Raven replied, "but I have to admit, I'm enjoying myself immensely. I certainly can't think of a better place than Whitby to spend a hundred and eighty-seven pounds."
"I reckon we can afford to spend another night here," said Beast Boy. "That's if they'll have us back in the hotel, of course, after you molested their cat this morning."
"Do you have to keep bringing that up?" Raven scowled. "I keep telling you, I only kissed the hotel cat because I thought it was you! It was only just dawn, the curtains were drawn, the stupid animal got into bed

"Here you go," said Beast Boy, beaming with pride. "She's all filled up and ready to roll."
Merlin received the Book of Love eagerly and started leafing through the pages, nodding to himself all the while.
"You've done well," Treguard told Beast Boy and Raven. "We weren't expecting to see you back here so soon."
"That's good to hear - we'd started to worry we were taking too long," said Raven.
"You've made excellent time," Merlin commended them, "although it wouldn't actually have been possible for you to have finished too soon, so I'm certainly relieved that you're here now. And what a good job you've done here. Eduardo and Kylie - excellent. Esteban and Zia, Tao and Myeena - wonderful. Hmm, what's this? Adam Seer and Kyle Broflovski - I don't imagine you got those two at the same time, did you?"
"No, we didn't," Beast Boy laughed.
"Do you actually know all these people, Merlin?" Raven

"Snow," Raven said distastefully. "I don't like snow not when I haven't brought suitable footwear and thick leggings, anyway."
"Don't worry," Beast Boy grinned, wrapping his arms around her. "I'll keep you warm."
"Stop it," said Raven, unable to conceal a small smile. "People will start staring at us if you do things like that."
"There's no one to stare, really," Beast Boy pointed out. "Just those four guys over there, and I don't think they've seen us."
"I wonder if we're supposed to get any of them to sign the Book," said Raven. "They look like kids to me, but the Dream Caverns do seem to've brought us straight to them. Why don't you go and spy on them, see what you can find out?"
"How do you suggest I do that?" asked Beast Boy.
"Can't you perch on that bus stop pole and listen in?" Raven suggested.
"Um, I guess so," said Beast Boy. "Okay, then."
With that, h
The Book of Love: Chapter 4CHAPTER 4: LAW OF THE JUNGLE
The Dream Caverns brought Beast Boy and Raven to a large room full of computer consoles and scientific equipment. There was an unmistakably futuristic air about the place, which looked like it belonged in some kind of space movie. There was something that could loosely be described as a bed in the middle of the room, although it looked more like an operating table. There was a clearly female figure - clad in a close-fitting black jumpsuit - lying on the flat structure, apparently asleep. Bending over the unconscious form and looking extremely concerned was a second figure. This one was clearly male, and was wearing a blue jacket along with a rather tight pair of white trousers. A black panther was standing with its paws up on the other side of the bed, also looking extremely concerned.
"What do you reckon?" Raven whispered to Beast Boy.
"Cosmic couple," Beast Boy whispered back. "They've got to be."
"Which ones - the guy

"It's a park," said Beast Boy.
"Yes," Raven agreed. "A very nice little spot, I must admit. But why have the Dream Caverns brought us here?"
"Perhaps they think we need a rest," Beast Boy suggested. "Hmm y'know, Rae, I think we've been here before."
"Yes, I'm getting a sense of familiarity too," Raven agreed. "What d'you reckon - shall we take a quick look around?"
"I think we'd better," said Beast Boy.
Ten minutes later, they had conducted a thorough search of the park and its surroundings. Sure enough, they both recognised the place fairly well.
"That settles it," said Raven. "We know this town, and we've had several adventures here. But the Dream Caverns didn't used to come out in Royal Park, did they?"
"Definitely not," said Beast Boy. "They used to come out in a driveway. Maybe that entrance has been closed for some reason, and now there's a new one."

Beast Boy and Raven emerged from the Dream Caverns into the Great Hall of Knightmare.
"Er did you ask to come here?" Beast Boy asked uncertainly.
"No, I didn't," Raven replied. "And you didn't either, huh?"
"Definitely not," said Beast Boy. "I mean, it's not like this is the worst place in the universe to end up, but well, what are we doing here?"
"Ah, there you are!" a familiar voice met their ears. "I knew you'd turn up eventually, if we left the path open for you. You haven't arrived a moment too soon, you know - we really do need your help!"
Beast Boy and Raven watched as Merlin's green-robed shape faded into view behind the magic pool. They both regarded him with quizzical expressions.
"Hmm if I didn't know better, I'd think you weren't pleased to see me," Merlin remarked.
"Well it's not exactly that, Merlin," Raven s
