I love how this illustration turned out. I was watching Black Jaguar White Tiger's Instagram Live watching Wolfies pride. Wolfie and the other cubs were playing and carrying around a stick. It was so adorable I came up with the idea of a mother and cub smilodon populator on a hunt. But the cub found a stick more entertaining.

There is a vibrancy to the piece that really makes it stand out and truly seems to bring to life the creatures that are now long gone right before the viewer's eyes. So often we see creatures like the Smilodon portrayed in extraordinary fashion doing things that make them seem singular and dramatic but seeing said creature simply walking through the grass with its adorable cub lends a sense of realism that would be lost in a more dramatic piece.

The plausible simplicity of the motions of the mother and cub truly is what gives this piece its life and when coupled with the artist's wonderful choice of color and shading makes these creatures seem as mundane and lively as an African lion or leopard on the Savannah. The attentiveness to little details such as the heavy spotting on the cub and the coloration of the eyes of both mother and cub all come together to lend itself to the sense of reality as if we really were observing a great cat stalking across the grassland.

lovely piece! however, i would like to suggest researching more in-depth about Black Jaguar White Tiger. they are under constant scrutiny and have a lot of controversial issues surrounding them (here, here, here (nsfw, animal hunting/kill), and here). i personally would not suggest supporting them, and instead donate to an accredited organization such as Panthera. while it might seem like the main guy who runs Black Jaguar White Tiger is doing his best to rescue and support circus/neglectful animals, he is in no way a professional and instead exploits them for money and social media fame and does not provide the proper care or enrichment his "rescued" animals need.

It should also be noted that Big Cat Rescue, the main organization criticizing BJWT, is equally bad, albeit for completely different reasons (political reasons). Considering most of your links are by them or refer to them, please consider removing them, because otherwise you are trying to expose BJWT by bringing in another place that should really be exposed.

The blog Why Animals Do The Thing, which deals a lot with captive animal management and is run by someone who actually studies animal management, gives a lot of insight into how BCR (and sanctuaries in general) are being deceptive or manipulative, and the negative impact their actions have on legitimate education or conservation programs, including AZA accredited zoos.

As an example of just how Big Cat Rescue slanders legitimate organizations (no, I am not defending BJWT, as BJWT is not considered a legitimate organization by law):

BCR once wrote an article (that they redacted later, but it can be seen on webarchive) “exposing” Species Survival Plans for tigers in accredited zoos, claiming that these plans exist only so zoos have an excuse to breed tigers that they can sell to the Chinese black market for tiger parts.

World Wildlife Fund found no evidence of any tigers from the US making their way into black markets. Big Cat Rescue fabricated the whole concept despite the fact evidence to the contrary existed when they wrote that piece.
