On a normal morning the less normal stands out. Although the appearance of a magical swirly portal wouldn't be considered normal even on a weird morning.
Despite his fear, the man stepped through. And one eternity caught in a moment later he appeared on the other side. The sun's rays were sharp on his skin. So sharp that his nerves failed to transmit the rapid growth of hair follicles all over his body.
And as the brightness stung in his eyes, he failed to notice how his toes reshaped into feline paws, his feet growing in length and repositioning themselves to fit a new gait.
Walking seemed harder for a moment until his diminutive coccyx found new energy to burst outward. And like with the rest of his body, the skin of his tail rapidly grew fur. The tip got a little extra, turning into a fine tuft.
Clothes reshaped like his body. The pale shirt grew downwards and cuts appeared were none had been before. His heat-absorbing dark blue jeans were uncomfortable in the desert sun, but a few steps forward and they seized to be as uncomfortable. Their remnants either disappearing into the aether or reshaping into shin guards. Socks and shoes became linen and wrapped around her lower legs as golden details found their way to complement her outfit.
Somewhere in the steps she had taken, there came a new sense of identity and history. One that conflicted with her previous life, so that thing vanished with the desert winds.
-----To inaugurate the reboot of the Gateworld and my work with A-viewer, I bring you this TFTG sequence. I have some more Gateworld sequences in the work but commissions comes first
Anyway, Pen's latest two entries concern themselves around the Vasssshaz Empire of Nimra. And they are very nice
Gateworld Lore ~ The Empire of Nimra (Summary)
Gateworld Lore ~ The Empire of Nimra (Culture)
So I'm sure you're going to be wondering what the reboot is going to mean aside from what has already been said and it basically comes down to the fact that I can't moderate an open world. Literally. It's really hard to keep the focus on all the things that other people submit and then also try to contribute myself. So I've chosen to just step away from moderating the Gateworld. I'm just going to work on a single canon with Pen and that's it.
However this doesn't necessarily mean that the Gateworld is entirely closed off. It only means that if you write a story set in the Gateworld, I won't act as moderator or editor for it. You'll have to do that on your own. Look at it as a game of Dungeons and Dragons without a DM.
