Sunlight poured through the treetop canopy in searching fingers of yellow. It caressed the forest floor, feeling the grass and fallen leaves, warming the soil with its radiance. The further they traveled the less leaves there were to obstruct the sun in her affection. Elevation thinned the forest and, even if they still had quite some distance to travel, it was clearer by the hour that soon the Frostback Mountains would overwhelm the surrounding forest with its might. Earth too tightly packed and too dense with rocks for roots to cut through the soil, air too thin for the greenery to make the attempt, it wouldn’t be long now before they broke through the treeline and stepped into the brisk scent of clean mountain air.
Birds sang to the daylight, flitting across tree branches as their harmonious choir filled the cano
A Lazy Day, Cullen Rutherford x Female InquisitorMuch to the Inquisitor’s delight, she had an opening to take a break from her usually duties. Josephine had even insisted on it, saying the last thing they needed was for her to become burnt out from over working herself. So, here she was, watching Commander Cullen train the latest recruits, with demonstrations from himself, Bull, and Krem. Currently, Bull and the Commander were showing different sword techniques, mainly basing around how to best someone who has a shield. She was rather surprised that Cullen could easily keep up with Bull; it even seemed he was besting him. The moment that Alora Trevelyan stepped into the war room, she knew something was amiss.
Prior to her entrance, her advisors were huddled on the opposite side of the table, heads joined as they attempted to keep their voices low. As soon as the heavy wooden door creaked open, they pulled away from each other and straightened to face her, each wearing matching g
