A quick drawing of the latest addition to the BEHOLDERverse, Jung-La, the Fierce Female Fury and Queen of the Concrete Jungle. Also, she's very free-spirited in her clothing choices.

I think i like Jung-La the best of all your character designs. She's an atypical character.  She really seems like a Jungle GIRL...and she has something of the girl next door in her looks. She's not as overly busty as others and she doesn't have that kind of swagger other so-called jungle heroines have, that kind of angry sneer.  Maybe it's the freckles?

Very kind words, thanks so much, I'm glad that you like her! She's based on a cartoon of a real person, which then developed into the Jung-La character. Perhaps that's what gives her a more natural feel!

well, she's so animated looking, with varying expressions. Centennia looks kind of severe and dour looking, and Blue Knight looks kind of unfinished compared to Jung'La.
as an aside, Jung=la gets a lot of views and faves in my gallery...

Her real life background probably gives me more to work with in her case. Thanks for the praise!
Since my tendency is to draw all girls similar, I tried to give these ladies distinctive looks. Centennia is stern looking, regal, and inspired by Golden Age and old Hollywood. Blue Knight more cartoony. Almost different drawing styles, it's fun for me to mix them up.

Glad to hear that your Jung-La drawing is getting a lot of love!
You did a awesome job with her, and unmistakably answered the old question what Jungle Girls wear underneath, at least in the BEHOLDER world ;-)

Blue Knight reminds me a little of Calvin's mom.   Centennia would look it'd be cool if she were drawn  in Charles Moulton's style of Wonder Woman.  She certainly resembles a classic 40s hero.
It's possible Jung-La could wear a more modest loin cloth, if showing off her goodies could prove problematic...but yeah, For an unknown I'm pretty pleased with the response to her. You got a very sexy character there, yup yup..

Love your comparisons and an flattered by them!
Nah, Jung-La's clothing choices are great the way they are, and how you depicted them :-)
The beauty of creating a "world" and elaborating it by drawing 350+ pages of comics is, that you make the rules, and that's one of the quirky rules of the beholderverse- nothing underneath :-)

well, i had a Wonder Woman collection next to me, so the thought arose.
Hmmm. Is Jung-La actually her name, Or does she have another?   Has she an Origin story? How did  she get to be this Jungle adventurer?
Oh, I had no real intention of adding underwear to anybody!  when Jung-La is in her natural environment , She might wear nothing but a garment to hold her tools! A little body paint for decoration.

Very good, I like that thought about Jung-La, she might not need anything at all when she's not in the Big City! Actually, she's not in the jungle that much, I conceived her mostly as an urban jungle girl.
There is only that little bit of back story for her here: cosmicbeholder.blogspot.com/20… and then of course her first appearance in that story starting here cosmicbeholder.blogspot.com/20… is all that exists.
As my priority is to keep going with the comic, there's many background things I take the liberty of leaving out, if they don't contribute anything to the story.

There is something about Jungle Girls. ;-)

I love simple things like the glint on the blade.  I think it makes the image pop, and somehow make that smile just a bit ... playfully threatening.

I agree, there's something about them :-)
I'm not obsessed with jungle girls, but I do really love it when they are part of the super-hero world! (Ka-Zar and Shanna were in one incarnation of the Ultimates, and Pantha was part of Alan Moore's Terra Obscura team)

The glint was a late addition at the end, I'm glad I thought of it!

This is a really nice sketch, it really shows just how comfortable she is in her new role as a heroine! Also I really like how big and sturdy her knife looks - no little paper cutter here!

Thanks very much! Yes that's what I wanted to show! And wanted to be a little cheeky with the loincloth ;-)
