I just love seeing pictures featuring vast landscapes with nearby planets (or other celestial bodies) being seen in the sky. It gives such an open (and to me, an adventurous) feeling. What I really do like are the sentinels themselves; massive monoliths protecting the land. Honestly, I love it when machine and nature coexist and be part of one whole picture. In others words, marvelous work!

Thank you for the comment! I think we love the same stuff!

Reminds me to that very old computer game "The Sentinel" ("The Sentry" in the USA) from 1986.

Also one of the mountains looks very familiar for me. I checked the stock and voilà: It's the famous Matterhorn from my homecountry Switzerland!

Thanks for the comment and for the discovery!

Maybe the makers of NMS had that game in their memory. But I didn't found a proof at the web.

For someone whose never played No Man's Sky (I read the comments), you got the idea of that game's Sentinels down pretty good (they aren't this big in-game, but they have that kind of design).

Dear TheCheval, Thank you for your wondrous spacescapes! The light at the top could be interpreted as weaponry, but I prefer to think of it meaning "somebody is home." Sincerely, elasticmowgli

Thank you for the comment! And for the interpretation!

Giant robots or surveillance towers?

TheCheval's avatar

Both I would said.
