Thank you for very much adding five of my pencil portraits to your favourites.
It has been my policy since I joined dA always to thank for favourites (it seemed the right thing to do) but I fear that I may have to reconsider this as the numbers sometimes overwhelm me and can get me down.

It gets you down that so many people favorite your work?

Yes, silly isn't it?  I would be disappointed if people ignored my work, though.  When someone favourites or comments I not only thank, but visit their profile to see who they are and their gallery to see what sort of art they produce and their favourites.  In fact their favourites are the places where I often get to see others' art, so I get diverted away from my prime objective f thanking those in my notifications!  Since the new search grid came in I have hardly ever used search to find artwork that I might like, as it gives so little information - I think it was a quite dreadful change for dA to make.

Thank You by KmyGraphic  Byodoin Temple - Kyoto by AndySerrano   Byodoin Temple 2 - Kyoto by AndySerrano Byodoin Temple 3 - Kyoto by AndySerrano

For the fave on Byodoin Temple - Kyoto. This Buddhist temple in Kyoto, dates back to In 1052.  Basically, it's a 1000 year old structure.  I love the contrast. I rode two subway trains and took a short bus ride to get there.  Buddhism and Shintoism exist not only side-by-side in Japan, people see no real conflict between the religions. There were, of course, some conflicts, but nothing like the wars in Europe and the Middle East over religion.  It's a stark contrast whereas in the Christian/Judeo/Islamic traditions, they kill each other over minor differences in dogma.
