Chapter one: A Meeting for Wolves Part One – Marie the Human's Perspective I have finally gathered everything I need to isolate myself in this study dormitory for a whole monthly cycle without interruption. I managed to organize everything just in time for the busiest part of the semester where it is normal for students to lock themselves in these study dormitories for extended periods of time. To the average person here at this campus I appear to be just like any other slacker, that I am yet another young aristocrat with high connections that only joined this course to waste time and avoid responsibilities! Well... The part about avoiding responsibilities of a 'high-born' lady such as myself may be true to an extent... But my passion for exploration shall not be hindered! Not by society! Summary: A competition was held between 100 different types of roses. Roses from all around the world participated! Some from France, the UK, the USA, Australia, New Zealand, and many other places all attended. Some were rather young roses from the new century, other roses were older than a century! Some roses were rather well known whereas others were relatively unknown. The Black Velvet Rose was one of the unknown roses. It is not known how old she is, what her heritage is, nor where she came from. Some suspect the Black Velvet Rose is one of those ‘generic’ roses that have been all the rage these days. In a major upset The Black Velvet stood out amongst the other 100 participating roses and secured her spot as the champion of the competition! The ceremony took place at the rose garden towards the evening. When The Black Velvet Rose took to the center to accept her reward the air shifted around the garden.
