Weird coincidence of timing. Saw that journal post you refer to linked on my facebook newsfeed and realized it has been at least half a year since I logged in.

My reasons for largely leaving was a dramatic change in life focus and an elimination of free time for creative art. My reasons for staying gone include some of the things you mentioned; old friends moving on, lack of talent on the front page (not that I have any to brag about), etc. I tried to get back into the chat during one of my "let's get back into art" moments but the depth seemed missing. Could just be me, though...

But I am grateful to DA for the wonderful people I was able to meet when I did keep active here; yourself included, old friend. Eleven years I've been here; I think you've been here longer, yeah? Those are some good memories spread across the years. So much growth, in you, in me, in the friends we've made; journal'd and shared here in word and art. Regardless of where DA goes tomorrow, worth giving a shoutout to their ownership and development team for enabling those moments over the years, and with a deep breath and some fresh ideas perhaps they can re-find that groove .
