Why I'm not accepting plushie commissions here

I've had to say it a few times, so I thought that I'd write a journal entry to cover it (I'm sure that I've done this before, but I can't seem to find it. So maybe it got deleted).

I'm not accepting plushie or cosplay commissions through this site. No exceptions. Not even through PMs. So please don't ask (If you know me in real life, the please go through the front door).

The reason for this is simple SJW hate me.

No, seriously. That's the reasons.

My family has a business designing and installing off grid solutions for people who want to live off grid (Obviously). We do things such as installing solar panels and putting in rain water collection systems.

We started this in order to supply preppers and survivalists who wanted to live in areas where there was no grid, or in areas where the grid might be cut off due to natural disasters or civil unrest, but in recent years we've significantly expanded into covering people who want to be more environmentally friendly, as well as people who have grown tired of utility companies charging them a small fortune for bad service, and then abandoning them in favor of more profitable urbanized areas when it comes to things like maintenance.

You'd think that this would make us popular with SJW types as most of them are also "into the environment". Nope.

You see, most of our customers live in small towns or rural areas, and most of them are conservatives. And, according to SJW logic "if conservatives do it, it must be bad". And because we're helping them to do it, we must be bad too.

We've been called racists, Nazi, Neo-Nazi (I'm not entirely certain what the difference is), fascist, and white supremacists, as well as a lot of other things that I can't repeat in polite company. Simply for providing rural conservatives with services and installations that SJW would champion if we were supplying them to urban liberals (We do this too, but the SJW kinda ignore this).

We've been accused of doing everything from trying to undermine local\regional renewable power by helping people to go their own way, thus putting up prices for minorities who can't. To giving white supremacists access to their own water supplies as part of a plot to poison the water used by minorities (You may be noticing something of theme here).

Anywho, I appeared in several videos on my our website. Nothing particularly controversial. A ground Source Heat pump, and things like that. And somebody used some kind of internet voodoo to connect those videos to my social media accounts and to the web store that I use to sell my cosplay and plushies. They started bombarding me with hate, and my contacts\people in my social circles too. It got so bad that the FBI had to become involved (I was under age at the time, otherwise they'd probably have called me a Nazi too) due to the number of death threats that I was getting.

Anywho, long story short, I don't want that here. So I'm not going to do anything on this site that can be used to connect the me here to the me on my other sites. Which includes not posting links to them anywhere.

I'm tired of getting posts of dead children in Somalia from 10 years ago with captions claiming that they were beaten to death in an ICE holding cell this month on the direct orders of Donald Trump. So I really don't want them turning up here.

If you want a plushie or a cosplay outfit, please just use Google.

Or, better yet, visit White Dove (Who isn't me, and who hasn't asked me to post this link), as they will be able to set you up with something fantastic.

It's a shame that you don't feel safe to share your work, I would love to see what you are capable of if your journals are anything to go by. But as much as it disappoints me, I will respect your reasoning. I'll just hope that in the future we will get past all this hate and hurt so that artists like you don't have to essentially live a double life out of fear of harm (real or virtual).

A group in California took to mailing used condoms to my PO Box, and I've had literally thousands of pictures of dead children posted to my comment on other sites.

I really don't want something similar happening here.

I am so very sorry you had to put up with that kind of sick garbage, NO one deserves to be treated like this. I just hope that you know that there are good people in this fandom that are rooting for you and want you to feel welcome/safe. Internet hugs and well wishes.

Yeah, the world is full of good people, but there are enough of the idiots around that I need to take precautions against them.

Sad to hear that. I don't really order plushies from the states anymore due to the customs and shipping costs, but would be nice to see your work and if it would change my mind. Still needs must I guess!

As for neo-Nazis, I assume that they're Nazis who think "We'll do it RIGHT this time!"

That's my guess, at least.

And as much as I like the idea of buying a quality plushie from someone I'd want to support, I support your reasoning 100%. Why beg trouble?

I think that Neo-Nazi is simply a modernized version of a regular Nazi.

Oddly, a lot of them seem to be gay. It's a very homoerotic movement.

You're probably right. And I hadn't noticed that about the gay thing - does that mean that if they win, they'll walk happily into the ovens/showers? (For anyone else reading, that is meant as dark humor - I'm sure that PerfectBlue understood that.)

There's a real homoerotic vibe around a lot of them. As a group they are heavily sexualized.

Soo, what you're saying is that you don't take plushy orders here because you want to undermine minorities ability to make and sell quality, and possibly perverted plushies.😜

Something along those line.

There's no winning with those people. As an example, I had somebody posting hate messages accusing me of being racist because because none of my plushies had natural African hair. So I linked them into a couple of pictures that actually did. And they accused me of cultural appropriation and racial stereotyping.

The irony is that they were mostly OCs commissioned by African Americans whic were versions of themselves. So I didn't even o the designs.

😂🤣, omg. Absolute hypocrisy. They just want to feel like they're right and have the moral high ground. I'm sure some of them actually care, just don't know how to properly help. But the ones that do stuff like what you described really aren't doing them favors.

Quite often they're simply looking for a reason to hate people who are different from them. It's why the whole "it's bad because conservatives are doing it" thing is such a pain.

They keep trying to find ways to tie anything to race, and if they can't tie it to race they try to make it about gender or sexuality. I've lost tack of the number of dumb conspiracies that they've come up, or some of the warped logic that they've tried to use.

And if they can't find something that you're doing that's racist they try to find something that you're not doing.

I'm big into cosplay, and right now there is a real shortage of people who want to cosplay black characters. Especially the Marvel ones like Black Panther. It's hard to put together the people to do things like photoshoots or combos. Nobody white wants to do it because they get accused of blackface, and a lot of African Americans don't want to do it because they don't want to be "the Black Gug guy".

I've even seen SJW absolutely tear into lighter skinned African Americans as well accusing them of all sorts of weird things because they're not black enough "culturally", or they're being hypocritical by mostly doing white or Asian characters,

10 years ago you could get an entire X-Men combo going from the club in a single school. Now you want Forge ... he's got to be an actual Native American, and the same for every other non white character.

Like those people doesn't have better things to do in their life. Think for a moment: normal people NEVER get offended by anything this minor or far-fetched. I can bet either their life sucks so much or boring to death.

TheBadFaerie's avatar

Sadly, outrage culture is all the rage. People compete with each other over how offended they get over nothing.

FasTChaoz's avatar

Ugh, that minimizes the point of Cosplay. Cosplay shows an appreciation and attention to detail of the characters being portrayed.

Another infuriating things is that they've started "interpreting" characters as being black. When they blatantly aren't.

There's a thing in Japanese culture to give "sporty girls" darker skin tones. It's supposed to be them having a suntan from doing sports outdoors during the summer. It's like given a nerdy character glasses, or having a Tsundere carrying a Bokken.

They've attacked white people for cosplaying as them with spray tan, saying that it's blackface, they've even attacked actual Japaneses for doing it.

We had an incident last year where someone started a fight over an Asian girl playing Jubilee from X-Men claiming that it was blackface because the girl had dark makeup on. Which is doubly stupid as Jubilee is supposed to be Asian, and the cosplayer was accurately portraying her

FasTChaoz's avatar
FasTChaozHobbyist Traditional Artist
Omg, that makes me believe that those people have not even seen the source material of any of those. There's a noticeable difference between a Black character and a suntan character in anime. Sometimes they even show suntan marks!

Oh, they do it with real historical figures as well.

Google "Shakespeare was black".
