[commission] Silver for monsters by TheArtrix [commission] Silver for monsters by TheArtrix
This deviation is commissioned by SomethingIdontknow

Honestly, there isn't all that much to say about this. It's essentially a portrait of the commissioner fighting a monster in Witcher 3. I was struggeling to get the layout right, fiding that balance between showing the main character and getting a good "tight shot", and we did go into great detail getting the swordguard right. Also, drawing the monster was challenging but fun.

All I had at the time was this dinky African blade, I would've made a better example if had a broadsword (which I do have now bytheway)

What's your definition of "broadsword"? It's just that so many people have their own ideas of what a broadsword is, so I want to make sure we're on the same page here.

A sword almost the length of a longsword, that can be held with either 1 or both hands.

That's a bastard sword. Not a broadsword.

It's not your fault. It's Hollywood's.

Agreed, the blade should've been longer (and I can actually edit it as such if the commissioner wants it).

As for the pose, I was using a reference, but to be fair, the prop in the reference picture was much smaller.

I'd love to see a version of this with a better blade. I'm gonna make sure I see it if it ever happens.
