Rises the Tide (real)

So I posted a version of this at the beginning of the month, but I had a Big Problem then.

I used a topcoat to bring out the colors, but it made the canvas wayyy too shiny. SO shiny that it was pretty much impossible to photograph or even scan (!!) That was super annoying.

…So I went out and bought emergency supplies. As artists do. I got a second topcoat medium in satin finish and desperately tried to fix the shiny ;-;

And after a few tries it worked!! I was able to get my high quality scan, and here she is, the way she ACTUALLY looks! Crisis averted

The photo I got at first, through MUCH finagling, was okay and looked cool, but the colors and even proportions were off because of the glares and the angle I had to use to even get a readable image.

This version finally captures the way it looks when you’re actually standing in front of it, and I’m really glad I was able to fix my mistake and get to share this version with you guys! I think it has a totally different vibe, and I kinda do like both versions :)
