The United States presidential election, 1880

The 1880 election was a quiet affair; James G. Blaine and John Sherman of the Republican Party won a straight race against Unionists Thomas A. Hendricks and Samuel J. Randall, a victory that, today, is mostly chalked up to the growth of the economy during the outgoing Fish administration.
