Charcoal and pastel white pencils on Strathmore toned gray paper; approx. 10x10" 600ppi. I received this commission through Sketchmob. It's a pretty cool service designed specifically for portrait artists, but the UI is very vague, difficult to find the information you need (like how to use their templates, what the meaning of "RAW file" is... and it's not what a photographer would think). Their fee if you sell a portrait is 15%, higher than going directly through PayPal. But they offer the customer the ability to have it printed on canvas and other things (using the templates they provide). I suppose for the customer it's like shopping at Cafepress, pick a topic or style or particular artist, choose a product, and it is printed and shipped. The diference here is that all the artwork is custom made to order using photos the customer supplies.

In this case the customer wanted a portrait of her as-yet-to-happen-graduation. She wanted to inspire the kids she counsels that it's possible to achieve a difficult goal, even if you start late or have to come back later in life to finish it :D
