Persona Tarot Card HD - The Wheel of Fortune

Number Ten from the Persona 3/4 tarot deck.
I know it's out of order, but so many requests were made for this card I figured eh, give the people what they want.


So, this one took me the longest to do out of all of them so far, and not just because I've been busy. There were so many intricacies that needed addressing, cleaning, and there was quite a bit of guesswork too. Let me tell you all about: anti-aliasing (insidious pipe organ chord). For those who don't know, anti-aliasing is a technique used by raster image renderers to give a much smoother and even transition between colors. Take this picture for instance. Follow the black outlines against the other colors; you'll see that there are pixels that are partway between black and whatever other color is next to it. The lower quality the image, the more prevalent anti-aliasing is (and there's lots more artifacts as well). So yeah, between the anti-aliasing and the artifacts, segmenting, and shaping was pretty tough.
All that being said, I really like how this turned out. I think it's my best so far (if I do say so myself).

The Fool's adventure continues:
"From out of hiding comes the Fool, into the sunlight, as if being pulled up from some low, dark point on a wheel. It is time for a change. Staff in hand, he heads back out into the world, expecting nothing. But, strangely, things seem to happen to him as the hours go by--good things. Wandering by a water wheel a woman offers him a drink in a golden chalice, and then urges him to keep the cup. As he wanders by a windmill, he stops to watch a young man swinging a sword; when he expresses his admiration of the weapon, the young man presses it into his hand, insisting that he take it.

And finally, when he comes upon a rich merchant sitting in a wagon, right over one of the wheels, the man hands him a bag of money. "I decided to give this to the tenth person who walked past me today," explains the Merchant, "You're the tenth." At this point, The Fool hardly thought he could still be surprised, but he is. It is as if everything good that he ever did in his life is being paid back to him three-fold. All luck this day is his."

Meanings:
Upright - Effortless success. Good fortune that is unexpected. Coincidences. Luck. The beginning of a new cycle. Advancement. Positive upheaval. Change. A card of good fortune, the appearance of destiny and Karmic change.

Reversed - Bad luck that is unexpected. Resistance to change. Unexpected interruptions. A warning against gambling. Difficulties. Delays.
