Shadows - Part 3 ". . . Tark?" Scitch dragged herself to Tark's side and felt his neck for a pulse. It was faint, but there. She was suddenly yanked to the ground again as the Zathian coiled itself around her mind once more. Scitch tried to fight it off as best she could. Her vision quickly fogging up, she snatched Pokey from the ground and pointed its end straight at her stomach. She prepared herself for the extreme pain she was about to put herself through. "I wouldn't do that," the Zathian panted. It was still weak from the mind-to-mind battle. "And why not?" Scitch returned, also gasping. "So I don't kill you as well?" The Zathian forced Scitch's hands to twist harshly, making her drop the stick. "The power it would take to eradicate me would kill you too," the creature explained in a cruel voice. "I'm stronge
Shadows - Part 2 The Challenge came to a soft landing on the surface of Zath. Soft landings were something the ship rarely experienced, and it had the dings to prove it. "You know how I hate being left behind and not knowing what's going on," Ral Lar replied. The tiny Vortian shifted in his seat next to his friend. "Something always happens to you when you come with me." "Not every time," corrected Ral. "There was the information retrieval trip to the military base. I didn't get hurt, you did." "True, but you got shot at." "Didn't get hit though." Scitch sighed again and rested her chin on the ship's controls. "Just promise me you'll be careful this time. No getting impaled with shards of glass."
