For years now, probably as young as I can remember, I have seemed to have a natural draw towards thing that were oriental in nature. My family never really understood this fascination I had with things like images, coins, currency, items anything, if it came from the oriental theater, I seemed to be hooked! It hasn't been until this past couple of years until I was able to put it all together. Two (2) years ago I started dabbling in Zen Buddhism, litely at first, but dabbling all the same. A year ago I decided to step on the gas and go "full throttle" with it, and made a choice to dedicate my life to Zen. Now my long term friends and most family members have put some of the puzzle pieces together, and realized, even as a child I was a Buddhist in the making. I know nothing in life is perfect, but the way things seem to appear in images from places like Korea, China and Japan, everything properly laid out, everything appearing to have it's perfect placement, the order, the tidiness, the organization, I love it! Heck I even went as far as removing my old home decor, kind of had no choice with that, seeing my ex-wife got most of it during the divorce, but I removed the remaining items and went with a custom Japanese theme through out my house. Heck, I may have to take some pictures and show them here with what I've been able to do with the place.
Does anybody else out there like things that are oriental in nature? Does anyone like having either a small and modest collection of oriental things in their house, or did we go big and deck the place out to look the Karate Kid's instructors back yard? Please chime in at your leisure, let me and or us know how you like your taste for the orient!
