Thought I'd post up some helpful resources for painting in a Torchlight-esque style. I hope to add more as I find them, with hopefully at least one good character tutorial. If you know of any other good tutorials yourself, that can help people learn to make things in this style, feel free to mention them in the comments of this post. But in the meantime, hopefully these will be of help to some people, as they have been to me.

First one is a PDF on making a set of bricks, by "mazvix":

Second one is a sort of mud-brick, although it could also be helpful for wood (by the guy who owns artpanda.co.uk/):

Third is a thread on the Runic forums dealing with making a tileable ice texture, by "Nickity".

[EDIT: The images for this tutorial appear to have become broken at some point. Apologies.]

Gimaldinov has offered his excellent wooden plank tutorial:

This tutorial provides good examples on different ways to blend colors with brushstrokes, as well as some helpful advice on color choice/variation:

While this tutorial is another brick-themed tutorial, it has some different details and a shortcut or two that make it worth putting up here.

Hooray, another brick texture tutorial! :P This one's a video, though, so it makes a useful complement to the other ones. Displays some nice techniques for blending in color variations.

Here we have a speedpaint of a prop/weapon texture (appears to be a book with a double-bladed dagger attached to it). Another good demonstration of color blending/variation, and an excellent resource for those wanting to see how weapons are painted in this style.

These are two GIFs showing the progress of painting a texture: the first is for a tileable wood surface, and the second (located here on dA) is of a weapon by CorderoStorm.

Another one from the very talented Gimaldinov! This is a video of him painting a couple of tall rocks. The video quality goes all the way up to 1080p, so if you've got a nice big monitor, take advantage of it! This video very clearly shows everything he's doing as he's painting.

Another video speedpaint of a weapon's texture.

Speedpaint of a pink cubic gem-like structure.
