Description
To call this "my" deviation would be unfair. I simply photographed the clever work of a mystery Londoner. It kind of explains itself to people who are aware of the BT Tower (formerly the Post Office Tower) in London. Granted, the tower is not an instrument of surveillance but a telecommunications tower. But it still looks scary.
I don't think I could forget the reception the building received by the popular television science fiction series "Doctor Who" when it was first constructed. In the story "The War Machines", it housed the computer WOTAN. The most powerful computer ever made by man. So powerful that it could hypnotise people and tried to take over the world by building giant fighting machines that - thanks to really low budgets at the BBC at the time - looked absurd! But kept killing people anyway.
I don't know the name of the road this was taken on, but it's just off Oxford Street, you turn next to Currys.Digital and just to the right of where I'm standing there's a Royal Mail depot with a whole load of red vans parked outside.
If by any strange chance anybody wants to use this photo, then be my guest! An attribution would be nice for the photography, but otherwise I can't take credit for the inspired graffiti. Perhaps someone will come forward if this photo becomes famous! Who knows...
This photo is the first I've uploaded to DA taken on my new camera! It's lovely and I'm very happy with it! I shall try to upload some of the lovely sky shots I've taken with it soon.
EDIT
I've been told that this is by Banksey, but haven't had this confirmed. Anyone know for sure?
