A greatly improved version of [link] with a new setting, new textures and improved models. I'm leaving the earlier render up for comparison.

Modelled, textured & rendered in Cinema 4D. As always, suggestions and advice will be warmly welcomed.

Done quite well! Is that sword just one you created, or is it based on a specific period sword or modern re-creation? And the helm is well done, too, the nasal looks the proper length (unlike many such helms I've seen elsewhere, mostly in fantasy art)

The sword belongs to one of the characters in the novel I'm writing, but is based on modern replica of a 14th Century sword (with some minor changes): [link]

For the helm I imported a head from Poser and then fashioned the helm around the head so I could be sure of getting the proportions right. I also used lots of reference pics.

Thanks for the comments, I appreciate them! For me, these pics are the precursor to some more ambitious Fantasy Art, but I want them to be strongly rooted in realism (I get frustrated by bulking top-heavy heroes, and scantily-clad women running around with swords so elaborate and ridiculous that they'd be as much a danger to the wielder as the opponent).

Very crisp, very sharp. I think the lighting is great and the textures accurate. Maybe a little blurring to bring out depth of field? Just my :twocents: :D
